Sorry this didn't help. Just to clarify: You are saying that Word crashes when you try to open a document in a Word session started in Safe mode?
Add-ins won't load into memory in Safe mode, so they can't be an issue here. It's possible that something is seriously wrong with wrror installation. Try repairing it from Control Panel Programs and Features. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Word not responding. How can I fix the problem permanently?
